Flag Folding Ceremony for the family of WWII Veteran SSG James Sheppard
June 26, 2021
Rev James Sheppard, Jr a Vietnam Vet father passed away when he was 7 years old. That was the last time he saw his father's grave. He's now 75 years old he didn't know where his father's grave was located. He expressed to My Veterans Place Savannah he wanted to find his father's grave and being the only child he wished he had received his military flag.
MVP Savannah located Mr. Sheppard's father's grave and incorporated a flag folding ceremony as a part of their organization's launch. Mr. Sheppard and his family and friends attended the ceremony. That was the first time he was back to his father's grave since he was 7 years old.

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony with The American Legion and Veterans Council

My Veterans Place Savannah, The American Legion, Veterans Council of Chatham County, and other nonprofit organizations gathered together at Post 184 Thunderbolt, GA, to pay tribute to those who loss their lives on September 11, 2001.

Grief Workshop/Coping through the Pandemic

Virtual Workshop with Moderator Veteran Alice Jackson gave a presentation on coping with grief. Attendees then went into Q&A.

Financial Literacy Workshop

Online Cooking Class

Virtual cooking class with Professional Chef Natasha. Interactivity class for attendees to cook along with the Chef and answer a few trivia questions. Participants had lots of fun.

Online Mixology Class

Virtual mixology class with Professional Mixologist Jamelle Prescott. Interactivity class for attendees to make alcohol/non-alcohol drinks along with the Mixologist and answer a few trivia questions. Participants had lots of fun.

Cleaning of Veterans Headstones

MVP Savannah in partnership with Post 5oo American Legion and Veteran Trae Zipperer cleaned the headstones of Veterans in Laurel Grove South Cemetary Savannah, GA.





Veterans Appreciation Luncheon​
November 17, 2021
MVP Savannah attended the Savannah Chamber of Commerce Veterans Salute Military Luncheon. Maj. Gen. Charles D. Constanza, the new commander of the 3rd Infantry Division from Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, shared initiatives around local, state, and federal issues and initiatives related to our area’s military installations.
